The elderly are the fastest growing population in the United States. There is a tremendous need for responding to their health care needs- both physical and mental.

Directed by Saeed Shah, M.D., the multidisciplinary team of clinical specialists at Bullock County Hospital offer acute psychiatric stabilization for older adults with dementia, depression, anxiety, late life mood disorders, and other symptoms of psychosis. The geriatric services have benefited individuals in need of medication adjustments in a hospital setting, nursing home patients with changes in mental status, and elderly veterans afflicted with various mental disorders.

All admissions require approval of Bullock County Hospital’s Psychiatrist(s) and must meet inpatient criteria.
