Gateway Adult Behavioral Unit
Inpatient psychiatric care for adults
Gateway at Bullock County Hospital offers inpatient psychiatric care for adults whose acute symptoms require a safe and structured therapeutic environment. The Gateway Psychiatric Program recognizes that adults ages 19-54 may be suffering from depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, mood disorders, behavioral problems or have thoughts of harming themselves or others. Directed by Saeed Shah, M.D., the multidisciplinary team of the Gateway Program personalizes the treatment plan to meet the specific needs of each individual and to address the severity of their symptoms. The average length of stabilization is 7 days but hospitalization may be longer if necessary.
